When floods strike, the first images are usually of submerged roads, damaged homes and families waiting for help. But the real crisis begins after the water starts receding — when people have to clean what remains, rebuild their homes and find a way to restart their lives.
YouTuber and content creator Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan, travelled to Assam to support relief efforts for flood-affected communities. His visit came after a major fundraising initiative led by his brother, Nischay Malhan, better known as Triggered Insaan, whose 50-hour charity livestream raised around ₹70 lakh for Assam flood relief.

What stands out about the initiative is its scale. The relief operation involved a cleaning drive with more than 3,000 labourers, supported by over 33 volunteers and eight JCB machines. The focus was not simply on clearing flood debris, but on helping affected communities move towards normalcy after the devastation
From Food Packets to Livelihood Essentials
The relief effort also focused on immediate necessities. Food, mattresses and essential supplies needed to restart livelihoods were distributed among flood-affected families. In a disaster where household belongings, work equipment and basic necessities can disappear overnight, such assistance can make the difference between temporary survival and the beginning of recovery.
Financial support to the people
Financial support was another component. ₹5,000 in cash was provided to 58 families in Jorhat, giving them some flexibility to purchase items according to their individual needs rather than depending entirely on standard relief packages. Reports have also said that he announced financial assistance for flood-hit families, including ₹10,000 each for 100 families to help them purchase essential items.
Rebuilding More Than Homes
Perhaps the most significant aspect of the initiative is its focus on reconstruction. The effort includes the redevelopment of a Hanuman Mandir, restoring a community space that holds cultural and emotional importance for local residents.
The rebuilding effort also extends to homes. New houses are being constructed in Simouloguri, offering families something more permanent than temporary shelter. In another important intervention, funding has been provided for washroom construction in 100 houses, addressing a basic need that is often overlooked during disaster relief.
