The drama surrounding The Traitors Season 2 has taken a fresh turn after contestants Shahneel Gill and Krystle D’Souza publicly raised allegations that Parul Gulati may have received information from outside the game.
Parul, who was recently eliminated from the show as an Innocent, had attracted attention for repeatedly identifying contestants she believed were Traitors. Her ability to make accurate calls, often describing them as “gut feelings”, has now become the centre of a controversy over whether she had access to information she was not supposed to have.
The allegations have not been independently established, and there is no public confirmation from the show's makers that Parul cheated.
Shahneel Gill Calls the Alleged Incident ‘Match Fixing’
Shahneel Gill was among the first contestants to publicly address the controversy. In a video shared on social media, she alleged that an Innocent contestant's production “shadow” was being paid to leak information from inside the game.
Shahneel questioned how Parul could repeatedly claim to have a gut feeling about the identity of a Traitor and then turn out to be correct. She described the alleged situation as “match fixing” and argued that such an information leak would be unfair to contestants who were genuinely playing without outside knowledge.
The allegation is particularly significant because the show's format depends on contestants having unequal information by design: Traitors know each other's identities, while Innocents are expected to deduce them through conversations, behaviour and strategy.
Krystle D’Souza Also Questions Parul’s Reasoning
Krystle D’Souza, who was herself identified by Parul as a suspected Traitor, also reacted to the controversy.
Krystle said she was angry after hearing about the alleged information leak and questioned how Parul could repeatedly make strong accusations without, in her view, providing convincing reasons.
She recalled that Parul had suspected her even before breakfast and that, when asked to explain the basis of the suspicion, the reasons given did not convince her. Krystle also questioned whether observations such as someone not crying over Munawar could reasonably be treated as evidence that the person was a Traitor.
Parul Gulati Responds: ‘I Am INNOCENT, AGAIN!’
Parul has pushed back against the controversy. Following her eviction, she posted on Instagram that the situation was another “Circle of Shaq” and described herself as “INNOCENT, AGAIN!”, while using the hashtag #digitalwitchhunt. NDTV also reported her response to the allegations.
Her response comes after she was voted out despite correctly identifying Harman Singha earlier in the game. Her suspicion of Krystle also became a major storyline before Parul herself was eliminated.
Allegations, Not Proven Facts
At this stage, the controversy remains based on claims made by fellow contestants rather than a proven finding of cheating.
The central question is whether Parul's repeated accurate guesses were simply the result of strong observation and gameplay, as she appears to maintain, or whether she received information from a source connected to the production.
Until the show's makers or an independent investigation confirms an information leak, calling Parul a “cheater” as a settled fact would go beyond the available evidence.
What is clear, however, is that The Traitors 2 has turned its own central theme—trust, suspicion and hidden information—into a real-life controversy beyond the game.
