The Baahubali & RRR-fame film-maker SS Rajamouli on January 30 unveiled the official poster of his upcoming Varanasi. In the official poster of the movie, the release date of Varanasi was also announced. Varanasi that features South Superstar Mahesh Babu and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be released in theaters on April 7, 2027.
Varanasi's official poster shows an asteroid hurtling towards Earth and triggering large-scale destruction. Rajamouli shared a visual of a new poster for Varanasi on social media.
Rajamouli wrote, “April 7th, 2027… #VARANASI”. The film's lead actors, Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, also shared the poster on their social media accounts.
In the meantime, multiple fans have reshared the poster with the claims that it resembles to a 90s Hollywood movie.
The comparison began gaining traction as a fan juxtaposed both posters side by side. Deep Impact revolved around an impending comet collision with Earth, and its promotional artwork prominently featured a celestial body looming over the planet.
On the other, Varanasi's storyline is under wraps.
