The answer is yes—the series is inspired by real events from the 1999 Kargil War.
Operation Safed Sagar was the codename for the Indian Air Force’s air campaign during the Kargil conflict. It marked the first time the IAF carried out large-scale air operations in the challenging high-altitude terrain of the Himalayas. Fighter aircraft such as the Mirage 2000, MiG-21, MiG-27 and MiG-29 played a crucial role in supporting the Indian Army as it recaptured strategic mountain peaks occupied by Pakistani forces.
The operation became one of the defining moments of the Kargil War, highlighting the courage, precision and professionalism of Indian Air Force personnel under extremely difficult combat conditions. It continues to be remembered as one of the most significant chapters in India's military history.
