The protest led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is ongoing at Jantar Mantar in Delhi where hundreds of people mostly students and young professionals are gathered at the site raising concerns over alleged irregularities in national exams including NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case and issues linked to CBSE Class 12 evaluation system.
Security remains tight as Delhi Police continue monitoring the situation in the area.
The crowd has remained strong since morning and many protesters are wearing cockroach masks while others are carrying flowers and placards. School and college students are present in large numbers and several have come with their parents.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is present at protest site and is actively engaging with participants and media and he is leading the demonstration and addressing the gathering along with other members of the organisation where the main demand from the protestors continues to be the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and they are focusing on alleged lapses in NEET-UG 2026 exam process and claims of irregularities in CBSE’s on-screen marking (OSM) system used for Class 12 evaluation and re-evaluation.
Protesters say these issues have raised serious questions about fairness and transparency in education system.
Student voices at protest highlight frustration over repeated exam-related controversies, they say that earlier smaller paper leak cases were ignored which eventually led to bigger failures like NEET-UG and demanded stronger accountability from education ministry and strict action against those responsible.
Attention is also on Ladakh based activist Sonam Wangchuk who had earlier said he would join the protest if the situation did not improve and in his earlier social media statement he said he would stand with CJP members in Delhi and added that any responsible minister should resign if such issues continue.
In a video message Wangchuk said his concerns go beyond NEET and CBSE controversies and come from decades of working to improve government schools in remote areas and expressed disappointment that meaningful change in education system has not taken place.
CJP has also been highlighting its growing structure and public reach. The organisation recently announced three spokespersons to represent it publicly including investigative journalist Saurav Das as chief spokesperson along with Vijeta Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke originally from Maharashtra studied journalism in Pune and later pursued higher education in United States completing a master’s in Public Relations from Boston University and he also worked with Aam Aadmi Party between 2020 and 2023 mainly in social media and campaign roles.
Security has also been increased outside Dipke’s residence in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar as a precaution and officials said the step was taken to avoid crowding and maintain law and order and the situation is being monitored.
The protest continues peacefully at the moment with speeches, slogans and discussions ongoing and the crowd remains focused on its core demands of accountability in exam systems, reform in evaluation processes and the resignation of the Education Minister.
