Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma may soon receive protection from the Mumbai police following a shooting incident outside his cafe in Canada. This is the second such incident outside his cafe in Surrey, British Columbia. Given the second shooting incident occurred within 30 days, the Mumbai police is on high alert and assessing the threat to Sharma’s life.

A police official revealed that after the firing incident, a social media post went viral claiming that the Canadian shooter was Goldie Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi gang. If the ring isn’t heard again, the police will take further action in Mumbai soon.

Following the first incident, the Crime Branch questioned Sharma about whether he had received any threats or extortion calls from the gang. Sharma denied any such incidents. The Crime Branch will now question Sharma again and investigate the social media posts. They are also investigating whether people associated with the gang have conducted surveillance around Sharma’s house or the shooting set.

Earlier, Sharma’s cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, was under attack by a Babbar Khalsa operative who rained bullets. Harjit Singh of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa claimed responsibility for the attack, firing nine bullets at the recently inaugurated cafe. Singh stated that the shooting was in retaliation for comments made about Nihang Sikhs’ attire on a television show hosted by Sharma.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday at Kap’s Cafe, located at the 8400-block of 120th Street in Surrey.
