Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the Lok Sabha over the ongoing debate on Operation Sindoor. In his reply, PM Modi came down heavily on the Congress party and answered almost all the questions that were raised by the opposition including whether US President Trump mediated Indo-Pak war or not.
However, what raised everyone's eyebrows was when PM Modi lashed out at 'new Congress leader' without taking her name after she called Operation Sindoor a tamasha in the parliament in her address.
The 'new Congress leader' in the focus is none other than Praniti Shinde. PM Modi in his address said, "There is a new Congress member. We should forgive the new member. What to say to the new member. She was made to say that Operation Sindoor was a 'tamasha'. This is like putting acid (on the wounds) of the 26 people killed by terrorists..."
Praniti Shinde is an MP from Solapur constituency from Maharashtra. She is the daughter of former Home Minister of India- Sushilkumar Shinde. Sushilkumar Shinde was a Minister in the Manmohan Singh government. She became an MP after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections from her constituency.
Praniti during the discussion in Lok Sabha had said, ".. Operation Sindoor was nothing but a 'tamasha' of the government in the media. No one is telling us what was achieved in this Operation. How many terrorists were caught? How many fighter jets did we lose? Who is responsible and whose mistake is this, should be answered by the government..."
Notably, her remarks were expunged from the Parliament.
On PM Modi's speech, Shinde said, "It's just a blame game. Such a speech does not suit upon Prime Minister. It is a speech of a Sakha Pramukh. PM's post is most powerful, but PM Modi's speech lacked respect. It's just a blame game."
Shinde then said, "If the families of those 26 people are affected, we are willing to say sorry 1000 times. But we will never apologise to these trolls and the Andh-bhakts of the BJP. The BJP has used Operation Sindoor for their PR tactics and optics. This is the stand we maintain even till today..."
