The month of September offers few significant government holidays for the people of Punjab. On these days, government offices, schools, and banks in the state will be closed, and it is a suitable time for people to plan outings, family get-togethers, or relaxing at home. Here’s a list of Government Holidays in Punjab in September 2025

-On September 5, wish is Monday the banks in Punjab shall remain closed on occasion of Id-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi). Although the government holiday for this day is yet to be notified by the Punjab government. 

-Sundays in the month falling on September 7, 14, 21 will be a holiday in Punjab.  September 14 

September 22, which is Monday, is declared as a government holiday by the Punjab state government, on the occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. For now it is the only public holiday which is a gazetted government holiday declared by the state government for the September month. 

- There is another consecutive holiday of two days for second Saturday followed by Sunday in September 27 (Saturday) and September 28 (Sunday)

Apart from these holidays the banks in Punjab shall remain closed on

* September 29 (Monday): will be a bank holiday in Punjab on the festive day of Maha Saptami.

* September 30 (Tuesday): Banks, government offices and schools in Punjab will be closed on the festive day of Maha Ashtami.

If there is any government circular for September 29 and 30 then Punjab will have a total of 9 holidays. Still it depends upon the government notification. 

The residents are advised to check these holidays and cross check with local authorities and plan the month of September accordingly. So altogether the citizens can enjoy the month of September with rain showers and breaks at intervals.
