Punjabi singer Garry Sandhu has landed in controversy after being accused of disrespecting Hindu sentiments during a live concert in California, USA, four days ago. During the performance, Sandhu reportedly linked a popular Hindu devotional song to former U.S. President Donald Trump, singing, “Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hai, Trump Ne Bulaya Hai.”
Shiv Sena Punjab leader Bhanu Pratap condemned Sandhu’s remarks, saying the singer has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus by linking a devotional hymn to a political figure. “We will raise this issue before all Hindu leaders during the ongoing Tarn Taran by-election. A collective decision will be taken on how to protest against Garry Sandhu. This insult will not be tolerated,” he said.
Additionally Following the incident, Sandhu began facing backlash on social media platforms. This is not the first time Sandhu has been involved in controversy. Around 11 months ago, the singer was attacked during a live show in Australia. A fan had climbed the stage and grabbed him by the neck, but security personnel managed to subdue the attacker and handed him over to the police.
Originally from Rurka Kalan village in Jalandhar, Garry Sandhu currently resides in the United Kingdom (UK), where he continues his music career. The singer enjoys massive popularity with over 5.3 million followers on Instagram.
