Famous South Indian actor and Filmmaker
Pratap Prothen, was found dead at his Chennai home aged 70. The incredible actor
has won Lakhs of heart from his work in the Malayalam film industry. Just a year
after his debut in 1978 he won Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam for
his role in, ‘THAKAR’. Pratap gave hit movies one after the other in his career
and kept on consolidating his fan base.
Prothen married twice, in the year
1985, he fell in love with the actor Raadhika Sarathkumar on the sets of ‘Meendum’.
But one year after they parted their ways. Years later, the actor-director tied
the knot with Amala Satyanath, after two decades of togetherness the couple got
divorced in 2012. Prothen is survived by his daughter Keya Pothen.

My heart goes out to your family and loved ones! We’ll miss you… Rest in peace
#PratapPothen sir.” Actor-Director Balaji Mohan shared his pain on the occasion
about his mentor, “Rest in Peace Pratap Pothen Sir. A legend as a filmmaker ahead
of his time and a versatile actor. A great mentor to me and so many other young
filmmakers when he was a jury on the show Nalaya Iyakkunar, @ppothen.” Several
other celebs shared their thoughts with the late director’s family and friends.
Congress Kerala also tweeted paying their
share of homage to the veteran Actor-Director.
