Amritpal Singh arrested in Punjab Police's big operation, 23 days after Ajnala Clash

Waris Punjab De Chief has been arrested almost after 23 days after a violent clash that took place in Ajnala Police Station.

Pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh has been arrested by Jalandhar Rural Police from Shahkot on Saturday. Amritpal Singh’s arrest has come as the biggest achievement of Punjab Police and government against anti-national activities. Waris Punjab De Chief has been arrested almost after 23 days after a violent clash that took place in Ajnala Police Station. Before Punjab Police's attempt to arrest Amritpal Singh, internet services were scrapped in Punjab in order to restrict rumours spreading. Reportedly, Amritpal Singh’s car was chased by 100 car cops and notable 6 of his associates were also arrested from Shahkot, Jalandhar. Earlier to this, Punjab government also cancelled arms licenses of 9 associates of Amritpal Singh. All these steps are being taken against Waris Punjab De Chief after the Ajnala Police Station clash. Amritpal Singh was arrested by the joint operation carried out by police departments of eight districts.

For the unversed, Amritpal Singh’s close aid Lovepreet Singh Toofan was arrested by Ajnala Police for kidnapping and assaulting a person. This led to the announcement of a peaceful protest by Amritpal Singh outside the concerned police station. However, the protest did not remain peaceful and turned into a violent clash where policemen were attacked with swords and stones. After this Toofan was released from jail as no evidence was found against him.

Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh was born in Jallupur Khera Village of Amritsar in the year 1993. He completed his studies upto 12th and then moved to Dubai for doing business with his uncle there. Amritpal Singh came back to Punjab from Dubai almost 6 months back and announced himself as the Chief of Waris Punjab De Organization started by Deep Sidhu who died in a road accident. On 25th September 2022 Amritpal Singh turned ‘Amritdhari Sikh’ in grand event organized at Anandpur Sahib, Bhindrawala's native village.
