10 days NCC CATC camp at HMV college concludes, Key highlights

In order to impart collective training to all NCC Cadets of its Battalion, the 2PB (G) BN conducted a ten-day combined annual training camp (CATC) at HMV college campus

In order to impart collective training to all NCC Cadets of its Battalion, the 2PB (G) BN conducted a ten-day combined annual training camp (CATC) at HMV college campus. More than 400 senior-junior (SW/JW) NCC cadets from 21 schools and colleges attended the training camp. Visualizing the huge design of the camp, the battalion preferred HMV for its very good infrastructure and support to have high-end conduction of the camp. Under the training, NCC cadets had gone through various Physical and mental exercises.

The training is mainly for different soldier-skills including hard drill, marching, map reading, rifle operating, and emergency duties.

In addition, Cadets were being prepared to be good citizens through social activities of awareness and waking, including blood donation, national integration, rural- development projects, environment protection and many more. The camp is concluded today (27 June 2019).

Camp Commandant Colonel Jasbir Singh informed: "The aim of the camp is to impart collective training to enable cadets to learn how to live together and cultivate a spirit of comradeship. This is also to provide cadets experience for teamwork, adventure, hardship to make them understand the value of self-discipline and integrity. Camp also helps cadets for character building, leadership inculcation, instilling of the dignity of labor and more."

on 21st June 2019 at HMV, NCC celebrated International Yoga Day.

In inter BN competition 2PB (G) BN won overall 2nd prize.

In camp, even Cadets were trained for traffic rules. Cadets went to various places in Jalandhar and did work with Traffic Police to get practical knowledge.

In drill competition, every college gave their best drill but position holders are KMV College, SD College, and HMV college Jalandhar.

As we all know that 26 June is celebrated as an international Drug Addiction day. SO, 2PB (G) BN organized international day against drug and Illicit Trafficking during the camp. An Oath taking ceremony was organized, A rally was organized from HMV college Jalandhar to DAV college, the cadets were chanting the under slogans to attract the attention of passerby and travelers.

ANO, CTO, and SW Cadets did Nukkad Natak at interstate bus terminus Jalandhar to highlight the importance of drug-free life for the youth of this country. Also, Lecture was delivered by Dr. Benu Chopra ( in charge of De-Addiction center Civil Hospital Jalandhar) on Drug addiction.

On the last day of camp, there was a cultural night, in which many cadets of different schools and colleges performed various cultural activities(dance, songs, poetry, mime, duets, etc).

The principal of HMV college prof. dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen attended the evening.

CO col. Jasbir Singh, Mrs. Jasbir Singh, Major Viji and Mr. Kamlesh also attended the eve attentively.

After cultural activities, the prize distribution of cultural competition took place.

Cadets got medals and trophies for their hard work in culture.
