InGoraya, a 14-year-old girl of class X was allegedly raped this morning, on thepretext of giving her a lift. The incident took place near a private universityin Phagwara. The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar. Cases have beenregistered under Section 376 (3), 323,506 and Section 4 of the Protection ofChildren from Sexual Offenses Act 2012. Police have arrested the accused.
Asper reports, the accused offered lift to the victim while she was waiting for abus at Bus Stop, Mahal. Unaware of the intentions of the accused, the girl tookthe lift thinking she would reach the school on time, however, the accusedinstead of dropping her to the school, took her to a room near to a universityin Phagwara and allegedly raped her. He then dropped the girl back to the busstand and drove away.
Meanwhile,the girl after reaching home, narrated the incident to her mother who thenimmediately filed the complaint with the police.
Themother of the victim also informed that the accused also threatened the girl tokill her brother if she reports the incident to anyone. She was also beaten upby the accused when she tried to escape and shouted for help.
