For some people, the 18th of September and 19th, of September might just be normal days, but in Punjab Politics these dates will always be remembered as they have shaken up the political environment of the state or have given it a total news turn.
Last year on 18th September 2021, the Ex-Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat through a Tweet called a meeting of Congress Party Legislators late at night. As a result of this meeting, that time Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh gave resignation from his post the next day that is on the 19th of September 2021. This decision of his brought a political storm into the whole state and many people were left startled by this decision of Amarinder Singh.
This shows that these two dates from the last year have to be remembered as what happened on these two days resulted in a lot of things that happened for the very first time in Punjab.
The situation now in Punjab again sights up with something big happening in Punjab. The Supremo of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal has called up meetings of MLA in Delhi on the 18th of September 2022. Although CM Bhagwant Mann is on Germany Tour, there are speculations that he might return to India and directly reach Delhi where the meeting will be held. The meeting that will take place tomorrow is in relation the Operation Lotus in Punjab and also about the allegation against MLA Fauja Singh Sarari. Reportedly, Mann is very rigid upon the decision to remove Fauja Singh due to his no tolerance against corruption strategy.
Also, it is being said that Capt. Amarinder Singh will join the Bhartiya Janta Party along with his son, daughter and nephew on 19th September 2022. Till now it is not sure whether his wife will join the party or not.
