35 Sikh organizations to hold massive farmers rally outside UN’s office in Rome on Jan 15

The alliance organizations have decided to hold a massive farmers' rally on January 15 in front of the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which is located in Rome, Italy, and a memorandum will be handed over to the concerned authority, seeking their intervention in the matter.

Condemning the adamant attitude of the centre government over the farm laws, the Alliance of Sikh Organizations (Group of 35 Sikh Organizations) in a press conference held here today, announced to intensify their protest and take it to international level, as the farmers were spending nights on roads in the chilly winter weather but the government is not willing to accept their demands.

Spokesperson of the Alliance of Sikh Organizations, Sukhdev Singh Phagwara said that the efforts are being made by various European organizations to bring this issue to the attention of the United Nations.

He said the alliance organizations have decided to hold a massive farmers' rally on January 15 in front of the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which is located in Rome, Italy, and a memorandum will be handed over to the concerned authority, seeking their intervention in the matter.

He said the issue of anti-farmer laws and government atrocities on peaceful protesting farmers would be raised and action would be sought against the Modi-led-BJP government.

He said though only 100 delegates have been allowed to take part in the rally owing to covid19 pandemic, however, we are sure of the fact that this rally will be historic and would raise farmer issues on the international level.
