4 terrorists shot dead by security forces in Anantnag, internet shutdown ordered
Four terrorists have been killed by the security forcesin Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. The gunfight is underway in the areaand internet shutdown has been ordered.
An encounter broke out between the terrorists andsecurity forces in the Shalgul forest area in South Kashmir's Anantnag districton Wednesday, officials said.
The gunfight took place after security forces cordoned off the area andlaunched a search operation on the basis of a specific information about thepresence of terrorists.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where the terrorists were hidingthey came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
"Encounter has started at Shalgul forest area of Srigufwara, Anantnag.Police and Army are on the job," police said.
Two policemen were previously killed on February 19 inSrinaga's Baghat area of Barzulla in a terrorist attack.
