A major accident happened late at night near Payal Nagar in Ludhiana. 5 people died when a car fell into the canal.
The car fell into the canal due to the poor balance of the vehicle. No one knew about the accident for a long time. A passerby spotted the car sinking in the canal and informed the police.
The deceased have been identified as Jatinder Singh, 40; Jagtar Singh, 45; Jagga Singh, 35; Kuldeep Singh, 45; and Jagdeep Singh, 36. One of the occupants Sandeep Singh Sunny jumped out of the car and survived with serious injuries. They all belonged to village Nangal near Dehlon.
Deceased Jatinder Singh had come from Canada 4 days ago. He used to drive a trolley in Canada and has two children.
It is being told that the speed of the Fortuner car was very fast on the empty road, but due to the poor balance, the car fell directly into the canal after hitting a wall. The bodies had swelled after being in the water for about 2 hours.
