Earthquake tremors were felt at around 11:23 AM in parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu earlier today. People in Jalandhar came out of their houses. The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, where the intensity was recorded at 5.2 on the Richter Scale.

Tremors of the quake were also felt in several Pakistani cities including parts of Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, Haripur, Malakand, Abbottabad Batgram, Texlia, Pind Dadan Khan, and the region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

As per the National Seismic Monitoring in Islamabad, the quake originated at a depth of 223 km which considerably reduced the impact of the jolt.

The quake terrorized people of the region, however, there is currently no information about any damage associated with it.
