Asmany as 5412 candidates appeared for the master cadre examinations in thesubject - English today for which 25 examination centres in eight districts ofthe state were set up.
Earlier,20,919 candidates appeared for the Master Cadre Recruitment test held for thePunjabi and Hindi subjects on December 27 for which 60 examination centres forthe Punjabi and 30 for Hindi subjects in different districts, which includedAmritsar, Bathinda, Fazilka, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur and SASNagar, were set up.
Theelaborate arrangements were made to conduct smooth and fair conduct ofexaminations as well as to check the malpractice of impersonation. The flyingsquads comprising officials of the education department conducted surpriseinspections of the examination centres in different districts.
While,the Secretary School Education, Krishan Kumar, conducted surprise inspectionsof the examination centres in Mohali today, he also visited Fazilka andBathinda districts to take stock of the efficacy of the arrangements.
