As
many as 5412 candidates appeared for the master cadre examinations in the
subject - English today for which 25 examination centres in eight districts of
the state were set up.
Earlier, 20,919 candidates appeared for the Master Cadre Recruitment test held for the Punjabi and Hindi subjects on December 27 for which 60 examination centres for the Punjabi and 30 for Hindi subjects in different districts, which included Amritsar, Bathinda, Fazilka, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur and SAS Nagar, were set up.
The elaborate arrangements were made to conduct smooth and fair conduct of examinations as well as to check the malpractice of impersonation. The flying squads comprising officials of the education department conducted surprise inspections of the examination centres in different districts.
While, the Secretary School Education, Krishan Kumar, conducted surprise inspections of the examination centres in Mohali today, he also visited Fazilka and Bathinda districts to take stock of the efficacy of the arrangements.
