A six-year-old girl has been found strangled to death inJalandhar after being raped. According to information received, the minor girlwent missing from Hazara village in Patara district police station late onSaturday evening. Her body was recovered this morning from a sugarcane field atJohal-Bolina on Rama Mandi, Hoshiarpur Road.
DSP Adampur, Harinder Singh Mann and SHO Patara, RashpalSingh Sidhu, who reached the spot, took the body of the girl in their possessionand started investigation.
Investigations have revealed that Santosh, a 25-year-oldimmigrant who abducted the girl, strangled her to death after raping her andthen dumped her body in a sugarcane field.
DSP Adampur said that various police teams wereconducting raids to nab the absconding accused Santosh and the body of thedeceased girl was sent to the Civil Hospital for postmortem. He said that acase of murder and rape has been registered against accused Santosh at Patarapolice station.
