As many as 8168 candidates aspiring for the posts ofscience master in government schools in Punjab appeared for the writtenexamination today.
The examination centres in different districts includingPatiala, Amritsar, Bathinda, Fazilka, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Mohali wereset up and elaborate arrangements for ensuring smooth and fair conduct ofexamination were made especially to check the menace of copying as well asimpersonation.
Earlier, examination for the candidates aspiring formaster cadre posts in the subjects of Punjabi, Hindi, English, Social Studiesand Mathematics has been held.
The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, today, conductedsudden inspections of the examination centres situated at Govt. GirlsMultipurpose Secondary school, Model Town and Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School,Civil Lines here.
"The teaching is one of the noblest profession andintegrity of the candidates aspiring for entering into this profession couldnot be compromised at any cost", said the Education Secretary, KrishanKumar, while adding that strict actionwould be taken against the candidates found indulged in malpractices during theexamination. The candidatures of the persons found guilty of impersonation andcopying would be cancelled and they would also be black listed to apply for theposts advertised by the Education Department in future.
Dr. Jarnail Singh Kaleke, Assistant Director, RecruitmentBoard Education Department, DEO(SE) Patiala, Harinder Kaur Deputy DistrictEducation Department(SE), Sukhwinder Kumar Khosla, were also present on theoccasion.
