New Delhi: One day post the road show which witnessed a Modi wave, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination from Varanasi on Friday.

In the presence of eminent leaders of NDA like Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP President Amit Shah, , Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackrey, AIADMK's O Panneerselvam, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Pawan and Shiromani Akali Dal's Parkash Singh Badal, PM Modi filled his nomination.

While on Thursday PM Modi held a road show in which a great amount of people came to support him and during the road show he passed by ancient temples and ghats - the seven-kilometre-long road show took two-and-a-half hours and finally ended in the holiest ghat of them all, the Dashashwamedh. The prime minister also attended the evening aarti at this ghat on the banks of the river Ganga.   

Minister of External Affairs of India and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said, “The people of Varanasi are very lucky as they are choosing the prime minister of India, while people of other constituencies are choosing their MPs.”
