Ethiopian Airline Crash: Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets grounded until further notice

Earlier on Monday, following the crash in Ethiopia, China had ordered its airlines to suspend operations of their 737 MAX 8 jets by 6 p.m.

The Ethiopian Airlines on Monday on its Twitter account informed that its Boeing Co 737 MAX 8 jets have been grounded. The step comes a day after a crash killed all 157 people who were on board one of its planes of the same type.

“Although we don’t yet know the cause of the crash, we had to decide to ground the particular fleet as extra safety precaution”, said the airline. According to a flight tracking website, excluding the one that crashed, Ethiopian Airlines has a fleet of four 737 MAX 8 jets.

Earlier on Monday, following the crash in Ethiopia, China had ordered its airlines to suspend operations of their 737 MAX 8 jets by 6 p.m. In October last year, another of 737 MAX jet crashed in Indonesia Lion Air.
