Pakistani aircraft F-16 violated Indian air space in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.  Pakistani jets that had entered into Lam valley, Nowshera were scrambled and pushed back in retaliation by the Indian Air Force, as per reports.

This violation by Pakistani jets has come after a day when Indian Air Force carried out the operation to blow up and bombard terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed camp.

In a claim by Pakistan government, they have made a statement which says their air force undertook the operation “from within Pakistani airspace”, though other reports claim it happened from the Indian side of the Line of Control. To this, Indian government has not responded.

Pakistan government gave a statement wherein they said its strikes “were not a retaliation to continued Indian belligerence”.

The strikes were carried out at “non military target, avoiding human loss and collateral damage. Sole purpose being to demonstrate our right, will and capability for self defence”.

In addition to this, the statement said Islamabad had no objective to escalate the situation “but are fully prepared to do so if forced into that paradigm. That is why we undertook the action with clear warning and in broad daylight”.

“If India is striking at so-called terrorist backers without a shred of evidence, we also retain reciprocal rights to retaliate against elements that enjoy Indian patronage while carrying out acts of terror in Pakistan,” read the statement.

“We do not wish to go to that route and wish that India gives peace a chance and to resolve issues like a mature democratic nation,” it said.
