On Monday, an Australian comedian who imitates North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said that the authorities were deporting him from Vietnam, some 24 hours before the real Kim was slated to arrive for a summit with US President Donald Trump.

The lookalike of the North Korean leader goes by the name Howard X, showed up in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam on Friday which attracted huge crowd and media as well. “North Koreans have no sense of humour,” the impersonator told reporters before heading to Hanoi airport to leave the country...Satire is a powerful weapon against any dictatorship.”

In June, when Trump and Kim held their first summit, the mimic had visited Singapore and performed satirical stunts as well. There also he was briefly detained by the authorities, he said. He had also showed up at Winter Olympics in 2018 which took place in South Korea and was hauled away by the security after he danced in front of the horrified North Korean cheer squad.

Vietnamese foreign ministry officials were not immediately available for comment. However, Howard X informed that earlier the authorities had questioned him and had also warned him not to create any disturbance. Vietnam has tightened security around the capital ahead of the summit.

Meanwhile, his partner, the Trump impersonator Russell White, was allowed to stay on in Vietnam, but not allowed to do make any more public appearances. On Monday, the two had hugged and kissed each other goodbye for the cameras. “Please no World War Three”, Howard X said.
