After the court proposes to stay the implementation of laws yesterday, the hearing today started with the submissions by ML Sharma, representing the farmers. He said, "Real facts about farmers could not be placed before the court yesterday....The center is not willing to withdraw laws. So farmers say Committee meeting will not yield results."

SA Bobde, Chief Justice of India said, "We will protect farmers land. We will pass interim order saying no farmers land can be sold for contract farming." He further says they are concerned about the life and property of citizens affected by protests besides the validity of the laws.

CJI further adds they have the power to suspend the legislation but it should not be for an empty purpose. He reiterates forming a committee.
