Amid row over Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi files his nomination

Along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress President went on to file his nomination

Congress President and candidate for the Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday filed his nomination to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Kerala's Wayanad. It is Rahul second seat in addition to Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

  

Along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress President went on to file his nomination. Rahul Gandhi landed in Kozhikode, 73 Km from Wayand and was welcomed by thousands of Congress workers and supporters.

After filing the nomination the sister-brother duo began a road show in an open vehicle in Wayand.

The nomination of Wayanad remains significant as there were row among the BJP and Congress over Rahul Gandhi participation from Wayanad. PM Modi in one of his rallies acknowledged the participation of the Congress President as a step of fear as he has lost the faith from the people of Amethi where majority of people are Hindu.
