New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday submitted an apology over Rafale remark in Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Rahul Gandhi had in his earlier affidavit merely expressed a soft regret for connecting SC order over Rafale to his political taunt against PM Modi.

Ahead of Friday hearing, Rahul Gandhi files a three-page affidavit rendering unconditional apology and requesting the SC to close the contempt proceedings initiated on the basis of a petition filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi.

On the reprimand of SC Congress president Rahul Gandhi finally submitted unconditional apology to the Supreme Court for unintentionally and inadvertently linking SC order in Rafale review plea to his "cowkidar chor hai" political jibe against PM Narendra Modi.

In the last hearing over contempt on Rahul on May 1, the SC reprimanded Rahul for the vaguely worded 22-page affidavit he had filed in response to the contempt petition filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi.
