Vivek Oberoi deletes his tweet, apologies for sharing offensive meme on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

The meme featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in three different pictures one with Salman Khan, one with Vivek Oberoi and the last one with her husband and daughter in an offensive context was shared by Vivek Oberoi was deleted hours after he started to receive counter attack for his act of bold disobedience.

The actor was slammed by Sonam Kapoor, she commented “Disgusting and Classless” within minutes he captioned his post “Haha! Creative! No politics here ... just life.” 

The actor took it to Twitter and tweeted “sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I can’t even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.”

Vivek Oberoi received notices from the National Commission and the Maharashtra State Commission for women as a result of controversial meme.  He said “I have no problem in apologizing, but tell me what wrong have I done.” 

He then added people were “making a huge issue out of it”, he said he was “appreciating the person for the creativity.” Yet he had to eventual delete the post and apologize for the act.
