With package of promises, BJP releases its manifesto for the upcoming General Elections

BJP released its much awaited manifesto by naming it as "Sankalp Bharat Sashakt Bharat"

Having released its party manifesto on Monday, Bharatiya Janta Party presented their vision and roadmap of what the party wants to achieve in the upcoming five years. Labelling their manifesto as "Sankalp Bharat Sashakt Bharat"; it was released in the presence of eminent BJP leaders like Narendra Modi, Amit shah, Sushma Swaraj.
From retraction of Article 370 to pension for shopkeepers here are the key highlights from BJP's election manifesto:

National Security

  •  Zero tolerance to terrorism
  •  Security forces will continue to get a free hand to deal with terrorism
  •  Purchase of defence equipment will be fast-tracked to strengthen the armed forces

Farmers

  •  PM Kisan scheme promises to give Rs.6000 to peasants yearly
  •  Promise to double the farming income by 2022
  •  Short-term new agriculture loans up to Rs 1 lakh at a 0% interest rate for 1-5 years on the condition of quick reimbursement of the principal amount.
  •  Pension for small & marginal farmers on reaching 60 years of age.

Health Care

  •  1.5 lakh health and welfare centre will be opened, along with 75 medical colleges and PG medical colleges.
  •  Provision of telemedicine and diagnostic laboratory facilities at Health and Wellness Centres by 2022

Economy

  • Review the tax slabs and the tax aids to ensure more cash and greater procuring power in the hands of our middle-class families
  •  To make India the third largest economy of the world by 2030, adding that it is committed to make India a US $5 trillion economy by 2025 and US $10 trillion economy by 2032.

Transgenders

  •  To bring transgenders in the conventional lifestyle through adequate socio-economic and policy initiatives
  •  To ensure self-employment and skill growth avenues for transgender youth

Ram Mandir

  •  To try that the Ram Mandir be built as soon as possible in a harmonious environment on the disputed land of Ayodhya.

Jammu and Kashmir

  • Abolition of Article 370.
  • Annulling Article 35A of the Constitution, which it says is discriminatory against non-permanent residents and women of Jammu and Kashmir.
