To be precise, Aakhiri Sach reignites the memory of the Burari Deaths in which a mass suicide case of a family had jolted the nation. To be precise, eleven family members of the Chundawat family from Burari, Delhi were found dead in 2018. Ten people were found hanged, while the oldest family member, the grandmother, was strangled. The bodies were found on 1 July 2018; in the early morning after the death. The police in their report had ruled the deaths as mass ritual suicide, motivated by shared delusion or psychosis.
It is pertinent to mention here that Netflix in 2021 had released a docuseries named House of Secrets which was based on the Burari deaths and it went on to win multiple awards and appreciation from fans as well as critics.
