Actor Aamir Khan turned 57 years old on Monday. Aamir, who tied the knot with Kiran Rao in 2005, told News18 about his bond with her.
Aamir and Kiran parted ways in 2021 but continued to remain friends and co-parents. On his bday, Aamir cut his birthday cake with the media and made several revelations. Talking about his bond with Kiran, Aamir shared, “Kiran has given me the best birthday gift ever. I asked Kiran to tell me a few things that you feel are my weaknesses and drawbacks on which I should focus on? She gave me a list of 10 to 12 points.. This is the best gift.”
On being asked about his divorce, Aamir said, “Kiran and I actually love each other. But our relationship of husband and wife experienced a certain change and we wanted to respect the institution of marriage. However, we are always going to be by each other’s side. We are working together. We live close by. But we are no longer husband and wife and that’s why we decided to call it quits.”
Aamir clarified that he was not dating Sana Fatima Sheikh during the time of his divorce. He said, “No. There was no one back then, there is no one now.”
Aamir also said, “When Reena and I got separated, there was no one in my life. A lot of people think that Kiran and I met before my divorce from Reena but it’s not true. Kiran and I had met but we didn’t really know each other and we became friends much later.”
