"The mention of Punjab has made me happy! Archana this story is very close to me. We shot for Rang De Basanti in Punjab and I really loved it there. The people, the Punjabi culture is so...people in Punjab are full of love. When we went to shoot for Dangal, it was a small village we were shooting in. We shot for more than two months in the location and that house. You won't believe it Kapil, I would arrive at 6 am and sometimes at 5 am, the shift started at 7 am. Early in the morning at five, I enter the village in Punjab My car is entering. And the people of that village would stand outside their homes just to welcome me with folded hands. Every day, for two and a half months, they would greet me every morning saying, 'Sat Sri Akaal'.

They used to wait and welcome me. They never disturbed me, never stopped my car. Nothing. They would welcome me with joined hands. The shoot would end at 6 pm, again, every person would be standing outside their house. And, while leaving, they used to wish me good night with folded hands.

This happened for two and a half months. I belong to a Muslim family. I am not used to folding hands. I am used to raising my hand and bowing my head. This is what I am used to do. After spending those two and a half months in Punjab, I understood the power of folded hands. You know, I feel that's such a wonderful emotion. Every man in Punjab stands at six feet tall. But their hearts are so full of love. They respect every individual, regardless of their stature."
