AAP in action mode: MLA's Raid in Police Chowki, catches drunk officer, suspends after medical examination

While the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is working hard for every reform, new steps are being taken daily to improve the law and order situation. However, it is the employees who maintain law and order that are seen flouting them. One such case was found in Dera Bassi where the AAP MLA suddenly rushed to the police station for investigation. The police in-charge was drinking alcohol in the police station with his employee and some friends. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuljit Randhawa caught the police outpost in-charge drinking alcohol with his friends and two employees on the spot. He was suspended after the matter reached senior officials. However, the post in-charge has not yet commented on the matter.

According to information received, AAP MLA from Dera Bassi Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that he had gone to a religious function. At around 9 pm when they started returning from there, Mubarakpur police station was seen on the way. He went inside the police station to see the readiness of the police in his area. Outpost in-charge Gulshan Kumar Sharma was drinking with a friend and two employees. When asked about drinking, he started asking me, "Who are you?" When the opportunity arose, two policemen fled.

He then immediately informed the senior officers. He then went to the hospital with the outpost in-charge, where the officer underwent a medical examination. Randhawa has sent a sample from there to a government and a private for testing. He said the outpost in-charge had been warned twice before that he should not do his duty by drinking alcohol. However, after the matter reached the SSP, the outpost in-charge was suspended.
