AAP MLA Amit Rattan arrest: Hear the audio recording based on which his arrest was sanctioned

Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Thursday morning arrested AAP MLA Amit Rattan Kotfatta from Rajpura in bribery case. Reportedly, the accused has been taken to Bathinda where he will be questioned in front of his PA. Amit Rattan is an MLA from Bathinda Rural.

The sources from Vigilance Bureau have revealed that arrest of AAP MLA Amit Rattan was sanctioned based on the audio recording received between him and the complainant. The audio that was submitted to them was sent to the laboratory for thorough checking. Adding to this the sources said that when it was proven that the other voice was of AAP MLA, VB initiated an operation to arrest him.

Punjab CM Mann post the arrest of MLA took to his official Twitter handle and shared the news. He stated that taking bribes in any which way is totally wrong and will not be tolerated by the government. He further added that everyone is equal before the law and no one will be spared if found involved in corruption.

The call recording used as evidence was between AAP MLA Amit Rattan and complainant Pritpal Kumar. The complainant released an audio recording where he stated that Risham Garg organized a meeting of him with the MLA in Circuit House. In the recording released MLA can be heard negotiating with Pritpal Singh about the amount of bribe. The complainant stated that some amount of money was pending from his side in the BDPO office and he met MLA regarding the same. Pritpal further alleged that MLA asked him to pay Rs. 5 lakh and he will let go of his pending amount.
