AAP MLA Neena Mittal issued notice for recording video violating MCC, watch

AAP MLA Neena Mittal recorded herself casting the vote and uploaded the video on X; recording inside polling booths is not allowed according to MCC.

AAP MLA from Rajpura, Neena Mittal has been issued a notice for violating the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by using her cell phone to record herself casting a vote at a polling booth in Rajpura.

 

The MLA, representing the Rajpura assembly constituency, shared the video on her X account and deleted it later. Taking action against it, Returning Officer Showkat Ahmad Parray confirmed that mobile phones are prohibited inside polling booths and that a notice has been issued to Mittal for the violation.

 

Earlier a video of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate from Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency Surinder Kamboj casting his vote showing EVM went viral. Kamboj was seen casting his vote and recorded the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in full view. This is in violation of the rules according to the Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Kamboj's son Jagdeep Singh Goldy Kamboj is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jalalabad.
