Abbas Ansari arrest: UP ATS reveals fugitive gangster was trying to flee to Pakistan, suspicious of political aide in Punjab

Abbas Ansari, son of fugitive gangster Mukhtar Ansari charged under the inappropriate use of Arms License was eyeing to flee to Pakistan. The ATS and UP Police have confirmed that his last location was traced to Punjab.

The Samajwadi Party-led government in Uttar Pradesh has declared Abbas as a ‘Fugitive’ ever since he has been absconding after a criminal case was registered against him over the misappropriation of the Arms License.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Police investigating team in the matter has been suspicious of political backing to Abbas in Punjab owing to which he is managing to stay in Punjab.

On the same matter, former Punjab minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has alleged the government of providing VIP facilities to Abbas’ father gangster Mukhtar Ansari while he was serving his term in Ropar Jail.

Failing to appear on the given date the court declared him a fugitive. As per the information, the UP STF has been investigating Abbas on the matter of Arms possession and has found 2 rifles, and 3 guns, with a revolver and pistol each.

On top of it, the investigating party has retrieved cartridges and magazines. Upon the completion of the investigation and the case being registered the UP Police filed a charge sheet against Ansari under sections 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC and Section 30 of the Arms act.

The allegation was raised against the Punjab government under Captain Amrinder Singh of providing VVIP facilities to gangster Mukhtar Ansari which was denied by the then-ruling Congress.

However, a committee investigating the matter formed by the Bhagwant Mann government under the jail minister Harjor Bins found that the then government spend around a whopping 55 Lakh on providing treatment inside the jail while he was serving his jail term.

It was also found that over 10 IPS officers were deployed in Ansari’s duty to provide him with the utmost level of security. Among other major revelations by the AAP minister, Ansari was booked in the Ropar jail for 2 years and 3 months.

The FIR under which he was booked was found to be a fake on which he intentionally didn’t make bail. The barrack inside which 25 other inmates were supposed to stay was occupied by his wife.

The revelation from Harjot Bains also showed that the UP government released a production warrant against him 26 times but he wasn’t sent to UP from Ropar Jail.
