Action against gangsters: AGTF to be deployed in 8 police ranges with Hi-tech weapons

Punjab Police has prepared an action plan to eliminate gangsters. The Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) will soon be deployed in eight police districts throughout the state. In this, 250 officers and commandos will be deployed who will be given hi-tech weapons. IG-level officers will lead the team. These teams will be able to take an action whenever a situation like an encounter arises.

These teams of Anti Gangster Task Force will be stationed in Patiala, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ropar, Faridkot and Border Range. These teams will continuously look for gangsters in their area and will arrest them. If there is an encounter situation, then these teams will be allowed to take action.

Aman Arora, minister of the AAP government claimed that 90 gangsters have been caught in a month. CM Mann had formed the Anti Gangster Task Force in the month of April. ADGP Pramod Ban has been appointed as its chief.
