Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is receiving a lot of praise and popularity for the amazing portrayal of tawaifs’ life during the pre-partition era. Netflix’s Heeramandi is about various courtesans going through personal conflicts to become the queen of Shahi Mehal. All the actresses have been giving various interviews where they talk about equations with each other on set.
During a similar interview, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharmin Segal got into a heated argument after the journalist talked about insecurities among actresses. The clip that has been going viral shows Sharmin Segal saying that actresses are meant to be insecure. If being an actress you are not insecure then a person is just torturing his/ herself. Sharmin Segal stated, “Actor ki jaat hi insecure hoti hai. If you are not insecure enough then you are not pushing yourself to a certain limit. Insecurity main alag hi maza hai.” Disagreeing to this Aditi Rao Hydari disagreed and interjected saying. “I don’t think there is any insecurity among the actresses because we are also human beings. Insecurity is horrible and I don’t like it.”
After this, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece Sharmin Segal replied to Aditi Rao Hydari and stated that it's better to keep Sonakshi out of this as she is the most secure person anyone can ever meet. However, she ended by saying that other actresses do feel insecure. Post this, the expression of disagreement and disregard on Sonakshi and Aditi’s faces has gone viral. The video clearly shows that Aditi Rao Hydari was not at all convinced with Sharmin Segal’s statement and tried to interrupt her. But Sharmin Segal didn’t listen to her and continued to give her take on actresses. Later Sonakshi and Aditi showed their disagreement with the same.
