Punjab Election: Actor Sonu Sood car seized, clash broke out between Congress and AAP workers in Bhadaur

The Akali Dal had complained to the Election Commission about Sonu Sood going to booths other than his own booth.

Voting has begun for 117 assembly seats in Punjab. 17.77% voter turnout has been recorded in the state in the first 3 hours till 11 am. More than 20% voting has taken place in 7 districts of the state.

The vehicle of Bollywood actor Sonu Sood in Moga has been seized by the police on the instructions of the Election Commission. The Akali Dal had complained to the Election Commission about Sonu Sood going to booths other than his own booth. 

Apart from this, a clash broke out between Congress workers and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers in the Bhadaur seat of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Many people have been injured in this encounter.

Till now, polling is slow in Amritsar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Sahibzada Bhagat Singh Nagar, Tarn Taran, Moga, Ludhiana and Jalandhar districts. Let us take a look at other districts of Punjab:

According to the Election Commission, 117 Assembly constituencies in 23 districts of Punjab will be voting from 24,689 polling booths on Sunday. All the Covid related protocols have been getting followed at all the polling stations.  Voting started at 8 am and will continue till 6 pm. Tight security arrangements have been made during this time.
