Thiruvananthapuram airport’s management lease was won by Adani Enterprises. The Kerala government had challenged the same in the state’s High Court in August.

Adani Enterprises won the bid for the airport’s lease and maintenance under PPP (Public-Private Partnership) with a margin of Rs 16 per passenger. With this, the company beat Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and GMR Group.

The plea was filed after an all-party meeting demanding the central government’s decision of the same.

The claim was that the central government’s decision is not in the public’s interest, and that the state had right of preferential treatment over a private entity.

The time period of the lease is 50 years and the Adani Group has won six such facilities.
