Adhir Ranjan's controversial tweet on Rajiv Gandhi: On the other hand, in London, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while attacking the BJP at the 'Ideas for India' program at Cambridge University, spoke shocking words about the 'image of India'. Like- 'India's condition is not good. BJP has sprinkled kerosene across the country.

Here, on the 31st death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, a controversial tweet by the name of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury – “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes” went viral. Politics has been heated by this tweet. However, Chowdhary has called it fake.

6 years ago the same statement went viral

6 years ago on the 72nd birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, the West Bengal unit tweeted the same statement paying tribute to Rajiv. Even when the controversy escalated, it was deleted. The party then claimed that someone had hacked the account as part of a conspiracy. At that time also West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had said that all this conspiracy was hatched to malign the image of the party.

When a big tree falls, the ground shakes, he said about the Sikh riots in the country after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. When the matter caught on, it was dropped. However, Adhir Ranjan clarified that this tweet has been used against his name. This tweet has nothing to do with his observations.

A malicious campaign is propagated by the forces opposing me. However, users tweeted and wrote that this is their original tweet. News agency ANI wrote that Congress leader Adhir Ranjan has removed his tweet.

Attack on Congress from all sides

Even though this tweet has disappeared now, news agency ANI has shared its screenshot. After this tweet, BJP, Punjab Lok Congress and Akali Dal all together have become attackers of Congress. BJP leader Manjinder Sirsa said that the Nehru-Gandhi family still hates Sikhs so much. It shows the mindset of Congress.

He wrote that the central government should take cognizance of this. Delhi Police should arrest him for spreading hatred. Captain Amarinder Singh's party Punjab Lok Congress spokesperson Pritpal Singh Balliawal asked whether salt needed to be sprinkled on the wounds of Sikhs to pay respect to Rajiv Gandhi.

Rajiv Gandhi said in the Delhi Boat Club that after the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984, 3325 people were killed in anti-Sikh riots in many states of the country including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. In Delhi alone, 2733 people were killed. It was considered the biggest riot of independent India (1947-after the Indo-Pak Partition).

On November 19, then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi said in front of the crowd at the Delhi Boat Club, "When Indira Ji was assassinated, there were some riots in our country. We know how much anger the people of India got, How much anger came and for a few days people felt that India was shaking. Whenever a big tree falls, the earth shakes a little."

On the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, many programs were held across the country, on this occasion Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi and National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi paid tribute to him by visiting his graveyard 'Veer Bhoomi'. While in London, Rahul Gandhi said that his father was a visionary leader whose policies helped shape modern India.
