O/O District Public Relations Officer, Jalandhar, December22- Further stepping its efforts to ensure an effective mechanism for theadministration of Covid vaccine whenever it arrives, the districtadministration on Tuesday has earmarked 33 session sites (vaccination sites)where the vaccine will be given to the frontline health workers under its firstphase.

Presiding over a meeting of District Task Force in thedistrict administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said thatthese 33 sites include 24 in urban and nine in the rural belt of the districtwhere the team of five-member team one vaccinator, two support staff, securitypersonnel and one person to verify documents for 100 frontline workers will bedeputed in each site.

He said that sessions sites in the city include CivilHospital, Urban Community Health Centres in Dada Colony, Basti Guzan, KhurlaKingra, Urban Primary Health Centre Garha, Community Health Centre PAP, ESIHospital, PIMS Hospital, Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, NHS Hospital, ShrimannHospital, Capitol Hospital, Gulab Devi Hospital, Bhutani Hospital, New RubyHospital, Kidney Hospital, Sacred Hearts Hospital, Patel Hospital, ShingaraSingh Hospital, SGL Hospital, Johal Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur CharitableHospital, Ghai Hospital and Joshi Hospital.

Similarly in the Rural belt, all block-level governmenthospitals in Kartarpur, Kala Bakra, Shahkot, Bara Pind, Adampur, Jamsher,Jandiala, Bilga and Mehatpur have been identified as session sites foradministering the vaccine.

He said that the site of the session will have three rooms —one for verification, the second for vaccination and the third for observation,where after the immunization, the person will be observed to check the healthstatus besides ambulance would also be stationed at each site.

He said that all these activities would be carried out withstrict adherence to the Covid protocols including wearing masks properly,maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene. He also directed the healthdepartment to set up additional vaccination teams for smooth conduct of thedrive.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that a control room wouldalso be set up at district headquarters and block-level whenever thevaccination drive starts.

Ghanshyam Thori further asked all the heads of departmentsto appoint nodal officers for the vaccination drive and give the list to hisoffice within two-day.

Prominent among present on the occasion included AdditionalDeputy Commissioner (G) Jasbir Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla,District Immunization Officer Dr Seema, District Medical Commissioner Dr AnuSharma, Epidemiologist Dr Satish Sharma and others.
