Srinagar, Dec 28 (UNI) Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, has suspended classes in view of an encounter, which ensued after security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Friday.

Mobile internet services of all cellular companies have been suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent spreading of rumours.
A spokesman for the IUST said class work has been suspended in the university on Friday for security reasons.

Earlier this week, all examinations were postponed and class work was suspended on Monday in IUST following apprehension of protests against the killing of six militants of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind, including its deputy chief, in an encounter with security forces at Tral in Pulwama on December 22.
