New Zealand’s capital Wellington was shaken up by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday. The locals of Wellington reported reporting feeling a sudden jolt and buildings quivering. Zero casualties have been reported so far. Adding to this, no damages and no warning of tsunami has been issued.

Reportedly, the tremors of 6.1 magnitude earthquake were felt for almost 10-20 seconds. Reports are suggesting that earthquake came as the cleanup got underway from a devastating cyclone.

While New Zealand’s Cyclone Gabrielle is moving away from the country, weather forecast suggests that country will have to experience more heavy rains in coming days. These rains can further result in increased risks of landslides and flooding.
