Baramulla, Jan 5 (UNI) An amount of Rs 7.82 crore compensation has been sanctioned in favour of orchards who suffered losses during the untimely heavy snowfall in November 2018, an official spokesperson said here on Saturday.
According to the official, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash has sanctioned Rs 7.82 crore compensation in favour of 19048 orchardists, who suffered losses due to untimely heavy snowfall in November 2018.
The amount will be given to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme, he said.
Dr Naqash also reviewed the functioning of grievance redressal cell, and was informed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Farooq Ahmad Baba that a total of 291 grievances were registered of which 209 were redressed within the stipulated time whereas the remaining 82 grievances are under process, the spokesperson said.
The DDC also took a review of land records digitisation programme which is being carried out under Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP).
The DDC directed for expediting the process of updating of Jamabandis and Girdawaris for time bound completion.
