While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Canada for the G7 summit, a few Khalistani protesters are standing out again. In different Canadian cities, people are staging demonstrations asking for Khalistan — an independent state from India.

A small group of less than 50 protesters turned out for the rally held in Vancouver on Sunday. The Pakistan flag, which was the tallest on the vehicle, showed that the protesters were influenced by foreign sources. Those protesting shouted demands that Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana should be included in Khalistan and threatened PM Modi’s life by shouting against India.

This move follows Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, an American citizen who advocates for Khalistan, saying that his supporters would gather to surround PM Modi in Canada.

The G7 Summit has invited PM Modi to take part in the event

PM Narendra Modi was invited by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to take part in the G7 summit, which will happen from June 15 to 17 in Kananaskis, Alberta. PM Modi has made it clear on social media that he will serve as the Ambassador.

Canadians Living in the Area Are Disappointed

These protests have bothered local Canadians as they deal with traffic problems and other issues. At Sunday’s rally, a Canadian citizen is seen on video telling the protesters to stop and go home since no one cares about their cause.
