The consequences of the Air India crash have still not vanished and the security checks implemented by the authorities can be seen at Amritsar airport too.
Notably, following the crash various flights coming to Amritsar and going from Amritsar have been cancelled. Recently, a flight between Amritsar and Birmingham was cancelled on Monday and a following flight which was supposed to fly on Wednesday, June 17 was also cancelled - the flight was between London to Amritsar.
According to the information, flight number AI170 was also cancelled due to unavailability of the aircraft. The flight was scheduled between London and Amritsar and was supposed to land on June 18 at 10:30 am.
It is to be mentioned that Air India has decided to cancel flight number AI 170 and the investigation is underway.
At the same time, flight number AI117 was also cancelled. The flight was scheduled from Amritsar to Birmingham. The authority has outlined that this flight was cancelled due to ongoing investigation.
The Ahmedabad Crash and Air India Investigation -
Following the crash of London-Gatwick bound AI171 in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025 the investigation was intensified. The airline authority has decided to change the flight number to Ai159 and AI160.
The authorities have also decided to implement additional security protocols, such as restricted airspace, extended flight timings and have also caused unavailability of the aircraft.
