Whereas Indian celebrities, such as many of the top stars, lauded the Armed Forces, Pakistani celebrities responded in a far different manner. Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Hania Aamir all blasted India with bitter words.
AICWA herself posted a strongly condemnatory message on X (formerly Twitter), labeling Mahira and Fawad as anti-India and highly disrespectful in their words.
Now, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has totally banned the release of Fawad Kahan's film 'Abeer Gulam'. Now this film will not be released in theaters or on OTT. Along with this, AICWA has also requested clarification from the producers of the film as to whether they wish to release this film in theaters or on OTT at some point in the future.
AICWA stated that the comments were an insult to the lives lost due to terrorism and the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The organization reiterated its position against giving Pakistani talent in Indian cinema or media.
]"These remarks are not only disrespectful towards our country but also an affront to all the innocent people who lost their lives because of terrorism and soldiers who gave up their lives in our country's service. AICWA repeats its stern and total prohibition to Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers based in India. No Indian artist will work with any Pakistani talent, and no international platform will be available to them.
