Following the drastic plane crash in Ahmedabad, Air India has once again made it to headlines, and people are once again talking about the airline for mismanagement. This time, passengers on Air India AI-458, flying between Chandigarh and Leh, have raised questions about luggage missing upon arrival.

One of the passengers was a resident of Jalandhar, Nirmal Singh Bedi, who also highlighted that the flight was scheduled for 10:20 am on June 24 but was delayed by around two hours and departed at around 12:30 pm, reaching Leh at 1:30 pm.

He, however, outlined that the real struggle started on landing when the passengers got to know that their luggage had not arrived.

According to one of the passengers, “There was no announcement, no notice. Over 90% of us didn’t receive our bags. Many of us are patients and have essential medicines in our luggage.” Along with this, another passenger outlined that the airline staff was not cooperative and was disrespectful; he further outlined that no water or refreshments were offered despite the delay.

The traveler could be quoted saying, “They said they are not authorized to speak about the luggage issue.”

Following this incident, chaos erupted at the airport, and the passengers were looking for answers from the authorities, but the Air India General Manager refused to come out and address the situation and instead asked the passengers to come to his cabin individually, which infuriated the passengers.

While highlighting this, one of the passengers mentioned, “This is a paid service, not a favor,” however, another one mentioned that the staff neither wrote the complaints formally nor acknowledged them properly.

Several travelers stood helpless outside the Leh airport and waited for their luggage with a constant fear of losing their valuable and urgent belongings. Certain reports suggested that the incident has triggered massive anger, and the passengers have been looking for answers and have been asking for accountability and compensation.
